The covenant that God made with Abraham was renewed with his son Isaac. In Genesis 26:3 God says to Isaac, "To you and to your descendants I will give all these lands, and I will fulfill the oath which I swore to Abraham your father." And then to Isaac's son, Jacob, God appeared at Bethel (according to Genesis 28:13–15) and confirmed the covenant to him: "I am the Lord, the God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and to your descendants; and your descendants shall be like the dust of the earth . . .

And the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, "Take handfuls of soot
from the kiln, and let Moses throw them in the air in the sight of
Pharaoh. 9 It shall become fine dust over all the land of Egypt,
and become boils breaking out in sores on man and beast throughout
all the land of Egypt." 10 So they took soot from the kiln and
stood before Pharaoh. And Moses threw it in the air, and it became
