For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.
Our Church Planting Residency is a training and preparation program for potential church planters.
As of February 1, 2015, Bethlehem will be working with Word of Grace Baptist Church on a Jumpstart revitalization project. Applications are now open in our search for a qualified Jumpstart pastor. See below for more information.
Program Description: The Bethlehem Jumpstart Residency is a church planter training program designed for called and qualified church planters to complete prior to full-time church planting work. The Residency aims to equip the resident by instilling in him our mission, doctrine, and values for church life by providing opportunities to observe how these convictions are lived out in the life of the local church.
Our mission is to spread a passion for the supremacy of God in all things for the joy of all peoples through Jesus Christ. Our doctrine is Bethlehem’s Elder Affirmation of Faith. Our values for biblical church life are expressed in the 10 Dimensions of Church Life.
Components of the Residency: The Residency includes supervised ministry, weekend seminars, seminary classes, a mentoring relationship, church planting conferences and assessments, and a year-end assessment and evaluation.
Support: Residents will receive a stipend of $25,000, disbursed monthly throughout the residency. The Resident will be responsible to raise at least $25,000, and up to $35,000, for additional salary support. Though we may be able to provide guidance, residents are responsible for their own health insurance.
Timeline: The Jumpstart Residency is a full-time, one-year program based at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis, MN. The program begins on September 1, 2015 and ends on August 31, 2016.
Qualifications: Applicants are required to submit a completed application with personal and pastoral references. Preference will be given to applicants with pastoral ministry experience and to those having completed their formal theological education.
Process: Applicants will be screened, assessed, and interviewed by a committee comprised of Bethlehem and Word of Grace representatives.
Due Date: The Jumpstart Residency application is open as of February 1, 2015. Applications and Reference Forms are due by March 1, 2015.
We hope to review applications and conduct interviews from March–April 2015 with the goal of announcing the Jumpstart resident by April 30, 2015.
