Downtown Campus Elder

Campus: Downtown

Growing up in a Christian home, Tom came to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior while attending Vacation Bible School at age 8. He graduated from Taylor University in 1985, married Heather, and moved back to the Twin Cities to begin his career. The Lord led the Lutz family to Bethlehem Baptist Church in the late 1990s, and they became members shortly thereafter. Tom served as an elder. In September 2006, a brief job transfer brought Tom and his family to Michigan. Upon their return to Minnesota in 2008, Tom & Heather renewed their membership at Bethlehem. Tom has been involved in leading a small group in his home and in teaching Jr High Sunday School. He also enjoys meeting regularly with a group of men for accountability, encouragement, and studying God’s Word. Several books have made a great impact on him, including Faith in Future Grace (John Piper) and Money, Possessions & Eternity (Randy Alcorn), as has the teaching and preaching from both Romans and Hebrews.
