For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness. For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor. No good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly. [O LORD of hosts, blessed is the one who trusts in you!]

Tim & Anita Tomlinson have been members at Bethlehem since 1985. During their time at Bethlehem, Tim has taught adult Sunday School classes, has been involved with The Bethlehem Institute, and has served on the elder board. Tim is also involved in world missions activity—mainly through his work with HCJB Global for the last 12 years. Anita has been active in providing hospitality over the years and is also involved in mentoring and discipling younger women through the Titus 2 program.
Tim has been a professor and administrator in Christian higher education for the past 28 years—first at Bethel, then Northwestern, and now he serves as president of Bethlehem College and Seminary. He began working at Northwestern College in 1983 as a faculty member in the Communications Department. He later chaired the department for 10 years before moving to an administrative position as Dean of Graduate and Continuing Education.
Dr. Tomlinson brought leadership to the graduate and non-traditional educational programs at Northwestern for seven years before becoming the Vice President for Global Education and Leadership Development in 2007.
Tim is guiding Bethlehem College and Seminary as its first President. BCS offers two undergraduate and two graduate degrees. The first Master of Divinity class began Fall 2009, while the undergraduate program began in the fall of 2010. Tim oversees donor development and is working to achieve accreditation for the new institution.
Tim and Anita love the ministry of Bethlehem Baptist Church and long to see more and more of God’s children living wholly for him—to his glory and their deepest satisfaction.
