Minister for Resources & Program Development

Campus: All Campuses

Sally Michael joined Bethlehem in 1980 and began serving as a pastor’s wife after her husband David joined the staff in 1986. Over the years, Sally’s advice, wisdom, and counsel on parenting has benefited our church, culminating in her call in 1996 as Minister for Parenting and Children’s Discipleship. In 2005, the children’s and youth department merged and became the Family Discipleship Department which Sally now serves the as Minister for Resources & Program Development.

Sally’s ministry has been marked by a passion for developing God-centered resources for the spiritual development of children in the home and at church. Today, all the curriculum currently being used in our Sunday School and midweek classes was developed at Bethlehem in a way that reflects the passion for truth and the theological and doctrinal convictions that have defined our church for three decades. This curriculum is now being used in hundreds of churches across the country and in various parts of the world through the ministry of Children Desiring God.

Sally’s childhood years were spent in Virginia, Rhode Island, and Ecuador. She met David at Nyack College where she graduated in 1976 with a BS in Christian Education. Sally & David have two adult daughters. Amy is married and mother of two daughters (Anna and Katie) living in St. John’s, Newfoundland, where her husband, Gary, serves as Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church. Kristi is a nurse living in Minneapolis
