David was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, and born again through the gospel-telling of his parents and the ministry of Campus Outreach while at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. He came to the Twin Cities and Bethlehem in August 2003 with the Campus Outreach Minneapolis college ministry team and to study at The Bethlehem Institute. David served on staff with Campus Outreach at the U of M and eventually at Northwestern College from 2004 through 2006, and he graduated from TBI in 2005.

David began working as Executive Pastoral Assistant to Pastor John Piper in January 2006 and was married to his wife, Megan, in June 2007. He currently is a Master of Divinity distance student at Reformed Theological Seminary (Orlando) and the lead elder for the 5pm Sunday Night Service at the Downtown Campus. David & Megan live in Phillips Neighborhood and help with an urban, missional small group of recent college graduates. They have two sons, Carson and Coleman.
