Why Desiring God?

The Bethlehem Baptist Church elder council has stated purpose of Desiring God as follows:

“To spread a passion for the supremacy of God in all things for the joy of all peoples through Jesus Christ, with a particular emphasis on declaring and explaining and applying the truth that God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in him. This goal shall be carried out by teaching and equipping others to spread truth that always is in harmony with and does not contradict the Desiring God Statement of Faith. Desiring God Ministries shall continue to advance the theological legacy of the founder, John Piper, during and after his life, as determined by the Desiring God Ministries Board of Directors under the governance of the Council of Elders of Bethlehem Baptist Church.”
