Slavery Is Alive and Well—or Alive and Sick
According to The Advocates for Human Rights, human trafficking (including both sex trafficking and labor trafficking) is the second-largest and fastest-growing criminal industry in the world. In 2008, traffickers made $31 billion buying and selling humans.
The International Labor Organization estimates that there are at least 12.3 million adults and children in forced labor and commercial sexual servitude at any given time.
