Do You Speak Russian?

February 5, 2010

Or do you know someone who does? [Pastor] David Livingston announced at the Quarterly Strategy meeting a few weeks ago that the South Site has been offering real-time Russian translation of the services. What began as a dream of Tony Tabakov has been in operation for two Sundays with Nadia Afanasyev as the interpreter for 20 headsets available in both services.

Pastor John Piper was speaking in Russia in October, and some of his writing is available in the Russian language.

David Little, a Bethlehem-supported worker with Navigators in Russian-speaking countries for a number of years, says there is a large Russian population in the south metro. The parents speak primarily Russian, but the children grow up bilingual, and so Russian families who desire more of God are looking for a bilingual setting in which to hear the gospel preached. The Littles plan to start a Russian Sunday School class in the near future. Contact David (952-855-4481) with your questions or suggestions for the class.

David Livingston is eager to have south metro folks participate and be warmly welcoming to our Russian neighbors. Please contact his ministry assistant, Amy Katterson, with any questions or if you wish to be put in contact with any of the individuals listed above.
