Behind the Scenes at Bethlehem: The Humor of a Properties Director

Shortly after being released from the hospital, I received an email from our properties director, Brad Arthur, indicating that one of the Downtown Campus elevators would be closed for maintenance.
 
With tongue in cheek, I replied to his email: “Could you also have the elevator guy check the stairway? It seems like the steps near the top don’t work as well on the way up as they do on the way down.”
 
Not missing a beat, Brad responded, “The new medication is definitely making you much sharper in your observational acumen. I will have the top and bottom steps reversed. Please let me know if you find that this solves the problem.”
