My son, keep your father’s commandment, and forsake not your mother’s teaching. Bind them on your heart always; tie them around your neck.
What is one of the greatest resources younger women have?
Here's what Ken Currie, Lead Pastor for Outreach at Bethlehem, said in a recent sermon:
Paul looked at the great need in the church in Crete for Christian discipleship and instructed Titus to call upon the older women to mentor the younger women. This was the natural strategy. All young women need help in appropriating and applying Christian truth, the greatest resource they have is the older women in the church. This is what Titus 2 groups are all about.
What does one do when confronted with a church full of needs not the least of which is Christian maturity? Paul knew that Titus would not be the best one to mentor the young women so he instructed him to commission the 'older' women to this task. One of the greatest resources the younger women have is seasoned Bible-saturated Christ followers who can walk with them as they face the challenges of life.
If you or someone you know(college-aged and older) would like to benefit from the tremendous resource of "seasoned Bible-saturated Christ followers" and be part of a Titus 2 group, please come to an informational coffee on Saturday, January 28, 8:30-11:30 am. Space is limited; call or email TODAY. For more information or to RSVP, contact Tracy Cornish (612-455-0806).
