My son, keep your father’s commandment, and forsake not your mother’s teaching. Bind them on your heart always; tie them around your neck.
Workshop Recap
Fourteen people attended our first shepherd leader workshop on worship and prayer this Saturday. Praise the Lord! It was a really sweet time of interacting with one another about how to grow in these areas as leaders.
Pastor Dan Holst opened with Psalm 147:1, "Praise the Lord! For it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant, and a song of praise is fitting." Then he led us through an interactive discussion on worship and prayer. We spent most of our time together looking at practical issues (i.e. how you make time to pray, how the unmusical can lead worship, how to follow up on prayer requests, etc.).
There was lively discussion, and guys shared wisdom and suggestions back and forth based on their experience. We really feel like it confirmed the need for this kind of face-to-face, ongoing training for our shepherd leaders.
So we are excited to announce our second workshop, which will be on Saturday morning, December 3, 9:30-11:30 at the North Campus. Pastor Vince Johnson will help us lead the members of our group in reaching out to the lost with the gospel. Elders and shepherd leaders on all 3 campuses are welcome to join us!
So we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.—Romans 12:5
