Small Group Workshops

As we have prayed about how to serve and equip you better to care for one another, we decided to try something new. We are offering small group workshops throughout the year for leaders or anyone seeking to learn more about being involved in small group ministry. If we’re honest, we all need to grow in how we love and care for one another as the body of Christ.

The pastors and elders are charged with equipping you to carry out the work of the ministry, and that happens when you get to spend time with them discussing and praying through the situations and circumstances you face in your group. At this point, we have lined up four workshops on Saturday mornings throughout the year, covering worship, prayer, outreach, care, and Bible study. Each of them will be at our North Campus in Room C402 (enter door A).

Our first workshop is this Saturday morning, October 8, 9:30–11:30. Dan Holst, Lead Pastor, North Campus, will offer some practical help on how to engage your group in worship and prayer. He will highlight what worship might look like for you in someone’s home, address some of the challenges and obstacles groups might face with worship, and answer any questions you bring. He’ll also speak to the prayer life of our small groups, and help you develop a plan for seeking the Lord together.

Our next workshop will be on Saturday, December 3, again 9:30–11:30, when Vince Johnson, Pastor for Outreach, North Campus, will help us equip and inspire our people to spread a passion for God through Jesus among the lost. He’ll train us in a tool for sharing the gospel, then point to opportunities to serve and share through Bethlehem as well as ways for you to reach out where God has placed you.

So we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.—Romans 12:5
