It’s a common statement among self-justifying rule-breakers, whether rebellious teens, conscience-stricken employees, philandering spouses, or street criminals.
However, you are caught. Already. God sees all and will judge every word and deed. That’s more important than being apprehended by any human enforcement.
Besides being caught by God, even if you are not caught by man, you …
- lower your own respect for the law
- lower other’s respect for your laws
- damage your spirit
- develop and entrench a wrongful and dangerous mindset and habit
- model Christlikeness poorly for others.
