See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. [Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.]
What Did Pastor Bud Say to the Youth Camp Team?
Upon returning home from Jr High Summer Camp, the team received a letter from Pastor Bud Burk from which I excerpt:
Most of life is in the routine, in the normal. Most of life is found in things like doing the dishes, doing homework, cleaning up after the dog, paying bills, doing laundry, working on the discipline of devotions outside of a camp-like experience, shopping for food, and taking out the trash. Most of life is not in experiences like Camp Shetek. Here is the word of encouragement: God reigns in the routine, in the normal, as well as in the “high moments.” He is as present to you when you are taking out the trash as he was during the campfires at camp. Remember what Jesus said as quoted in Hebrews 13:5, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
