To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by doing so you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
On Thankfulness
God gave you a gift of 86,400 seconds today. Have you used one to say “thank you?”—William A. Ward
The Pilgrims made seven times more graves than huts. No Americans have been more impoverished than these who, nevertheless, set aside a day of thanksgiving.—H.U. Westermayer
There is no such thing as gratitude unexpressed. If it is unexpressed, it is plain, old-fashioned ingratitude.—Robert Brault
When we were children we were grateful to those who filled our stockings at Christmas time. Why are we not grateful to God for filling our stockings with legs?—G.K. Chesterton
Grateful hearts tend to be generous. This coming weekend commences Bethlehem’s annual Thanksgiving Food Drive, which will collect groceries and other personal items for three food shelves in the Twin Cities. It’s a great project for children to join in. Pick up your empty grocery bag along with instructions at any of our three campuses this weekend, or contact the church office.
