Certainly conservatives can and do use euphemisms to try to advance their causes, too, but here are some of the more common euphemisms that liberals have used with great effectiveness:

• When referring to abortion: “choice,” or “reproductive freedom”
• When referring to taxation: “redistribution of wealth” or “income redistribution”
• When referring to the lack of any standards or morality: “tolerance”
• “Multiculturalism” has been used as cover for the rejection of historic Christianity.

In addition to euphemisms, liberals may resort to the opposite tactic of using dysphemisms as well. This entails using harsher more pejorative words in place of milder ones. For example: “Hate speech” is frequently the term used to characterize any communication that disagrees with or does not promote homosexuality.
