Paul tells Timothy that he prayed night and day for him.
Why pray “night and day”? Prayer is a sign of care; thanksgiving is a sign of contentment, even joy. Paul’s desire is that Timothy, who began well under Lois and Eunice, continue to move forward. So Paul demonstrates care by praying, and rejoices in the progress he observes.
