(… and a conversation to follow)

I was in college in the early seventies when I first read The Screwtape Letters, penned by C.S. Lewis in 1942. Now a classic, the book consists of a series of 31 letters from a senior demon, Screwtape, to his nephew, a “junior tempter” named Wormwood, advising him on methods of securing the damnation of his “patient.”

Developing The Screwtape Letters for the stage, Max McLean, from the Fellowship for the Performing Arts based in New York City, performed at the Pantages Theatre in Minneapolis in mid-May.

I attended the play along with the church treasurer, Scott Rebney, and our wives, Vicki and Holli. Also in the audience was our communications director, Amanda Knoke. What follows in this coming week’s blog posts is a conversation about our impressions of the theatrical production.
