To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by doing so you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
MOMS and Self-control

South MOMS was blessed to hear from speakers Kempton and Caryn Turner last Tuesday. Here are a few highlights from their message on Self-Control:
- Self-control is the ability to keep yourself from indulging in things that do not increase your joy in Christ and bring glory to Him.
- Self-control sets up a firewall around your heart, mind and home to help protect you from unholy, unhealthy pleasures and patterns that long to destroy you and your family. (Proverbs 25:28)
- Self-control is a fruit of the spirit. When you are saved, self-control takes up residence in your heart. Therefore, we are not self-controlled, but spirit-controlled. (Galatians 5:22-23)
- A self-controlled woman is disciplined with her tastes, her time, her thoughts, and her talk.
Want to hear more? Mark your calendar now! The Turners will speak again next spring--at Downtown MOMS on April 3rd and at North MOMS on April 17th.
