My son, keep your father’s commandment, and forsake not your mother’s teaching. Bind them on your heart always; tie them around your neck.
Engaging Islam this Weekend
It's only been two weeks since we as a church took time to intentionally lift our eyes and look at the harvest fields around the world. The Lord of the harvest met many people across the church in transformative and confirmative ways. For some that heart-work was with regard to loving and reaching Muslims in Jesus' name. This weekend provides two excellent opportunities to take a step in that direction:
1) Engaging Islam: (Nov. 4-5) In our North Campus chapel we'll be gathering to worship our Lord and learn together about what it takes to begin moving out in love towards our Muslim neighbors. Guest speaker, Georges Houssney, will be leading those sessions and we would love to have you join us. Please register at the Engaging Islam website. (The $25 cost covers lunch on saturday, printing costs, & speaker travel)
2) Pray through the Hajj: (Nov. 4-7) Every year Muslims from all over the world will make a pilgrimage to Mecca in Arabia as they seek mercy and forgiveness of their sins from Allah. One simple act of love would be to pray that they would meet Jesus in and around these times, "the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!" (John 1:29) For more information and practical prayer requests visit this website.
