The Pleasures of God: God’s Delight in Being God

Sanctuary

Instructor: Bryan DeWire, Pastoral Assistant

Begins February 8

This class aims to consider the worth and excellency of God through the lens of God’s pleasures. We hope to magnify the worth of the happy God in a more meaningful and personal way by treasuring him in our heart above all else. We will examine Scripture, thoughtfully interact with Pastor John's book The Pleasures of God and think through certain aspects of the doctrine of God.

Join at any time.

For more information, contact Bryan DeWire (612-338-7653 x468).

Christ-Centered Parenting

Room 318

Leaders: Dick & Julie Dahl

In this class we are examining various aspects of parenting, such as the importance of the marriage relationship, how to get to the heart of your child, discipline issues, how to deal with conflict, and preparing children for young adulthood. All parents are welcome, though the class will focus on issues related to parenting younger children. As Christian parents, our aim is to faithfully embrace this ministry and impart this message for the sake of our children.

Topics and Materials: Using primarily Paul Tripp’s Shepherding a Child’s Heart and John Rosemond’s Parenting by the Book, we will focus on obedience and various consequences of children’s behavior.

Parents may join at any time during the year. For more information on the Downtown class, contact Dick & Julie Dahl (651-773-9632).

Christ-Centered Parenting North & South is being offered as a Sunday School class.

Parenting Wounded Children

Room 218

Leader: Dave Little
Parents who adopt or foster children who have endured neglect or abuse often find that traditional parenting strategies don't work. Join us to discover together how we can bring healing to the lives of our traumatized children. A video series developed by Karyn Purvis will guide this class.

If you are interested in attending, RSVP to David Little (952-270-6281).

Paul's Letter to the Galatians:
Living in Line With the Truth of the Gospel

Room D502

Instructor: Marshall Segal, Pastoral Assistant
Martin Luther was not the first to defend the truth that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone. Luther actually learned from the Apostle Paul as the great apostle fought the same battle for the churches in Galatia. And let’s be honest—we fight the same battles today. We all try to add to or subtract from the gospel in many creative ways.
Join any time for this journey through Paul’s letter to the Galatians as we strive to help one another live in line with the truth of the gospel (Galatians 2:14).

For more information, contact class leader Marshall Segal (612-455-0800 x822).

Evangelism & Apologetics

Room D504

Instructor: Eric Tibayan
The Evangelism & Apologetics class is designed to equip Bethlehem to spread a passion for God’s supremacy in all things. We will be discussing how to effectively engage family members, neighbors, and co-workers in obedience to the great commission to make disciples. As we learn to engage our community circles, we will also learn how to point them to Jesus in understanding their objections to the Christian worldview.

We are using material from Tim Keller's The Reason for God.

 Join any time.

For more information, contact class leader, Eric Tibayan (612-455-0800 x804).

‘How People Change’

Room D500

Leader: Pastor Jack Delk
This study is derived from the book How People Change, by Paul David Tripp and Timothy S. Lane. With this curriculum you come face-to-face with your own heart, examine the fruit of your life in Christ, and grow in love for others. You will be challenged—and moved—by the shocking hope that the gospel can change anyone!

For more information, contact Lynda Hansen (612-455-0800 x805).

South Campus

The Book of Genesis

South 501 Bldg

*6:30pm
This year in our South Wednesday Connection, Aaron Davitch, Pastor David Livingston, and Jeff Lacine are teaching through the book of Genesis. As we go through this study, we believe that it’s having great benefits for shaping a biblical worldview, helping us learn apologetics, fostering solid hermeneutics, and growing in God-centered theology. All ages and life stages are welcome anytime, with a special invitation to young adults and their families.

For more information, contact Rob Gangnon (612-746-2650 x650).
