BCS Guest Lecture: Dan Gurtner

Downtown, 203 Bethlehem College and Seminary presents “An Introduction to the Dead Sea Scrolls” with guest lecturer Dan Gurtner (professor at Bethel University). All are welcome to this BCS Guest Lecture during lunchtime on Monday.
Attendees will be able to hear a brief overview of the Dead Sea Scrolls in light of an upcoming exhibit at the Science Museum. The lecture will begin with a summary of the discovery of the Scrolls, the site at Qumran, and the religious sectarians who composed them.
We will survey some of the contents of the scrolls and comment on their importance for the study of the text of the Old Testament and the Jewish world of Jesus in the New Testament.
