TCT is our ongoing strategy to fulfill our mission through a multiplying movement of campuses, new churches, and a Global Diaconate, united by a common mission and founded on a common biblical life and doctrine.

Campus Update, May 2010

At the April 25 All-Church Strategy Meeting, Jon Grano, Lead Pastor for Operations, reviewed God’s faithfulness in providing for our past needs (Span the Nineties, Freeing the Future, Education for Exultation, Finish the Million by March, etc.), and introduced a new TCT funding campaign planned for launch later this year. Here is an overview of what was presented:

• The elders will be recommending that Bethlehem initiate a 30-month TCT capital campaign with a financial target of $18M, and that the current TCT funding ratios of 80%-10%-10% (campusing-church planting-Global Diaconate) be changed to 90%-5%-5% for the duration of the campaign. The elders also reaffirmed Bethlehem’s commitment to our self-imposed TCT debt cap of $10M.
• The target of $18M was selected to cover potential expenses for a permanent South Campus of $9M and to cover the $7+M of current TCT campus debt. The 30-month timeframe allows for pursuit of a South Campus now, avoids an extended capital campaign of five to six years like previous campaigns, and spans multiple tax years for the benefit of planned giving.
• Adjusting the TCT funding ratios will allow for accelerated debt reduction and quicker action for a South Campus, and will still provide comparable funding for church planting and the Global Diaconate because of the target goal size.
