Treasuring Christ Together

TCT is our ongoing strategy to fulfill our mission through a multiplying movement of campuses, new churches, and a Global Diaconate, united by a common mission and founded on a common biblical life and doctrine.

Global Diaconate Update, June 2010

During the second quarter of 2010, in further response to the devastation of the January 2010 earthquakes in Haiti, the Global Diaconate voted affirmatively for the following:

  • Provide start-up funding to World Orphans for the launch of a Haiti Orphan and Vulnerable Children (OVC) Program. These funds will be used to provide staff-support to 10 Haitian churches who will each be caring for 20 children orphaned through the recent earthquakes.
  • Participate in a Haitian church-to-church partnership through World Orphans OVC Program. Under the Haiti OVC program, Bethlehem’s Haitian church partner will care for 20 orphans/vulnerable children who have been taken in by extended family or other community members.

Bethlehem will have several opportunities to participate in this church-to-church partnership:

  • We currently need 4–5 people for a committee to work directly with our church partner.
  • People may apply to participate in short-term mission projects to visit our church partner.
  • We all can participate in praying for our church partner and the 20 children who are being served through our church partnership.

If you are interested in participating on the Haiti Partnership Team, you can attend the Orphan Ministry meeting on Monday, June 14, at the Downtown Campus in Room 111 at 7:00pm, or contact Heather Elting-Ballard for additional information.

Pray for the surpassing value of Christ to be treasured by more people through the Treasuring Christ Together vision.

Give a monthly gift designated to “TCT” in addition to your regular financial support of Church & Missions.

Go to one of our newer campuses, or with a church planting team, or on a mercy mission with the Global Diaconate.
