Upcoming Leader Trainings

Published by: Anonymous
October 26, 2011

In just a few weeks we will have another round of shepherd leader trainings at all 3 campuses. If you're interested in leading or starting a small group and have not attended one of our two-day trainings, we hope you will consider coming to one listed below.

These trainings are a unique opportunity to hear in just two sessions the vision behind Bethlehem's small group ministry, the hopes and expectations we have for each of our groups and their leaders, and the practical principles we've learned over the years for how to lead a small group.

So we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.—Romans 12:5

Faithful, Personal, and Persistent Care

Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called "today," that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our confidence firm to the end—Hebrews 3:12-14.

So we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.—Romans 12:5

Q & A: Resources for Leading Worship

Published by: Anonymous
October 19, 2011

This is a question that Pastor Dan Holst addressed in our recent workshop for shepherd leaders. He provided links to a number of helpful resources that we want to make available to you here on the blog.

Question: Are there any good resources that I can use for finding music/lyrics to lead my small group?

Answer: Yes! There are lots of resources (and more all the time online) for believers looking for good worship materials for their small group. Below are a few that we have relied on and encourage Bethlehem to use.

You Have Something to Give

Published by: Anonymous
October 12, 2011

In his sermon this past week, Pastor John highlighted all that we have to give others through small groups because of the Jesus who lives in us. He pointed to four things that we have, and two things that we are.

First, we have four things from which to give:

So we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.—Romans 12:5

Fourteen people attended our first shepherd leader workshop on worship and prayer this Saturday. Praise the Lord! It was a really sweet time of interacting with one another about how to grow in these areas as leaders.

Q & A: Childcare

October 7, 2011

Over the years, we've heard the same questions and issues raised enough that we are able to anticipate what small groups, new and old, young and old, will face as they commit to meeting together. We will post these questions and their answers here on the blog.

Question: What should we do with children in our small group?

Small Group Kick-Off: ‘Eager to Share Ourselves!’

Published by: Anonymous
October 6, 2011

Pastor John’s most recent message was a loud and clear declaration that every believer has something (a lot) to share with others, a key application being that Bethlehem’s Shepherd Groups are gatherings of trained leaders and participants committed to giving of themselves—”doers” of that implanted word (imperfect to be sure, nevertheless ...), doers and not hearers only, deceiving themselves.

Small Group Workshops

Published by: Anonymous
October 4, 2011

As we have prayed about how to serve and equip you better to care for one another, we decided to try something new. We are offering small group workshops throughout the year for leaders or anyone seeking to learn more about being involved in small group ministry. If we’re honest, we all need to grow in how we love and care for one another as the body of Christ.

So we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.—Romans 12:5
