God’s Appealing Invitation to Grow Older

The righteous flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon . . . they still bear fruit in old age; they stay fresh and green, to declare that the Lord is upright; he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him. Psalm 92:12-14

If you're a "Boomer," you've entered the last third of your life's race . . . or soon will. Quit believing the world's lie that this is bad news and there's nothing appealing about growing older. Not true! "Wisdom is with the aged, and understanding in length of days" (Job 12:12). And for recipients of eternal life most of the best is always yet to come.

Finishing Together!
For the fastest growing portion of the general population and the hundreds of people already at Bethlehem over 55, a wide variety of "finishers" ministries are available:

• Instruction: Life-Long Learning in the School of Christ
  A Sunday Morning "Finishers/Empty-Nesters" Class convenes on each campus during the first worship service.
• Deployment: How to Finish Well

• Health Ministries: Taking Care of Myself & Older Family Members
  Attend periodic seminars and obtain resources regarding health issues from a cross-section of Bethlehem's physicians and other medical professionals. Contact Amy Anderson (612.338.7653).
• Visitation: Hospital, Homebound & Nursing Home Contacts
  Get plugged into a network of visitors who make regular contact with our oldest and most disabled members. Contact Lynda Hansen (612.455.0805).
• Activities: Programs, Hospitality & Encouragement for Seniors
