Values Relating to the Relationship of our Life Together
Bethlehem adopted these values in 1995 as a part of its mission and vision:
- Pursuing increasingly visible, authentic, practical ways of loving each other.
- Having an eager openness to new people and the avoidance of cliquishness.
- Building lasting friendships that strengthen our faith.
- Encouraging the freedom to relax and enjoy each other and God's world in casual ways.
- Emphasizing the importance of small groups for building caring, faith-sustaining relationships.
- Spiritually caring for all our people through the spiritual shepherding of elders and deaconal care.
- Equipping parents for bringing children up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
- Having a spiritually dynamic youth ministry that equips teenagers for courageous Christianity.
- Capturing the hearts and minds of college students with a biblical vision of God.
- Honoring and caring for the senior members of our congregation.
- Being a place where single people can flourish with each other and in families.
- Proclaiming the beautiful vision of how God designed men and women to complement each other.
- Building strong marriages that model the relationship between Christ and the Church.
- Providing biblical counseling for persons, marriages, and families in distress.
- Committing ourselves, as members of Bethlehem, to live according to the Church Covenant.
