How We View Counseling

We exist to spread a passion for the supremacy of God in all things for the joy of all peoples through Jesus Christ.

Passion
Our counseling invites people to engage both their minds and their hearts in a passionate pursuit of God.

The Supremacy of God
The focus of our worship, love, and service is the Triune God. Our counseling is dependent on God's moving in the hearts of people through his Holy Spirit to produce change. Scripture and prayer are means of grace through which God works and are an integral part of the counseling process.

In All Things
Our counseling approach is based on the belief that both the expanse of all of creation and all of the events of our individual lives are designed and directed by our sovereign Lord. Our counseling helps others to view their lives through this perspective.

For the Joy
We embrace the verse, "sorrowful, yet always rejoicing..." (2 Corinthians 6:10). We are not fearful of honest reflection on the condition of our hearts during our trials (like the psalmists'), but we seek to help others become SON-focused instead of self-focused and to find in him the root of all joy.

Of All Peoples
Though we are aware of and speak to cultural, racial, social, and personal differences, we are convinced the gospel is good news for every individual.

Through Jesus Christ
The goal of our counseling is for others to know and experience, in every aspect of their lives, Jesus Christ, who is the image of God.

Spreading
We desire that through counseling one another, all of the treasures we have in Christ may be experienced on a daily basis by all members of our congregation, and that this message may spread to the ends of the earth for the glory of God.
