TCT Church Planting
Church planting is a key sub-strategy of our Treasuring Christ Together (TCT) strategy. [Bethlehem has consistently been involved in church planting throughout its history, and our current method of church planting has precipitated from three distinct epochs: 1871 to 1980, 1980 to 2002, and 2002 to present. Through church planting we aim not just to plant a church, but to plant a strong, God-centered seedbed for spreading a passion for the supremacy of God in all things for the joy of all peoples through Jesus Christ. Our church planting vision is to plant new churches led by elders who share our mission (to spread...), who gladly embrace our Elder Affirmation of Faith (EAF), and who carry out these defining elements by pursuing an experience of church life marked by at least ten dimensions. Our church plants have no organizational tie to Bethlehem, but are voluntarily affiliated with such groups as Converge Worldwide, the Southern Baptist Convention, and the Acts 29 Network.
TCT Church Planting Residency
Our TCT Church Planting Residency is our training and preparation program for our church planters. It is a year-long residency, beginning in August and ending in July of the following year. The program has been designed for qualified church planters to complete prior to full-time church planting work. The program aims are to instill in the planter the biblical convictions of the Bethlehem Mission and Elder Affirmation of Faith, and to envision a new expression of those biblical convictions in the context of a new church.
