Cameroon – Where’s that?

Cameroon is a country in West Africa. According to Patrick Johnstone, author of Operation Word (2001 edition), Cameroon is country in which theological education is a key need. He goes on to describe the spiritual poverty of the churches as the country's greatest tragedy.

The Cameroon Baptist Convention consists of more than eight hundred churches; less than half of these have trained pastors. As a result, many believers have only a limited grasp of the more basic teaching of God's Word, while superstitions and animistic traditions continue unchallenged.

Cameroon Baptist Theological Seminary (CSTS), a part of the Cameroon Baptist Convention, is blessed to have several outstanding Africans in leadership positions. Bethlehem has had the privilege to help with many of these leadership with their theological education and then send them back to CBTS.
